Meet Takoda
Our Indian boy mascot now has a name to go with his face thanks to 3rd grader Haley Standley of Mrs. Fillman's class. Takoda is a Sioux name meaning "friend to everyone". Out of all the student entries Haley's was picked due to the meaning behind the name and how original it was. Congratulations again Haley, job well done.

Campbell's Soup Labels
We know that for some parents finding the time to physically volunteer is almost impossible but there are other ways you can still help. For example our school collects Campbell's Soup labels. With these labels we collect points which we can then turn in for educational items for our school and the children. Please start saving these and look for more information to come home about this program.

Walk To School Day A Success
This year we had about 180 students participate in the annual walk to school day, which was an increase from last year. The winning class of the Golden Sneaker award and year long bragging rights went to Mrs. DeLong's class, with over half of her students showing up for the event. Students enjoyed healthy snacks and had a police escort to ensure fun and safety for all involved. A special thanks to the Mechanicsburg Police Department, Mayor Kimball and the many parents who came out to show their support. Way to go Burg!
